Our Position: Hardware-Agnostic
We have no obligation or financial incentive to recommend any particular brand. Our recommendations are based on real installation experience, verified performance data, and long-term client outcomes. When SigenEnergy consistently wins that evaluation — across cycle life, warranty structure, installation efficiency, and client satisfaction — we say so openly. And when a different technology is genuinely the better fit, we will recommend that instead.
Residential & Light Commercial
SigenEnergy Neo is our preferred recommendation for homes and small businesses. The architecture, warranty, and total installed cost consistently make it the right call.
Commercial & Industrial
SigenEnergy’s commercial EC and SigenStack range fits many C&I applications. Where it does not, we specify what does — open to the best technology and pricing for your application.
Utility & Grid-Scale BESS
At utility scale we spec the right architecture for the application — technology-neutral, pricing-driven, performance-focused. We bring the same engineering rigour regardless of brand.
— RESIDENTIAL & LIGHT COMMERCIAL
For Homes & Small Businesses: SigenEnergy Neo
The SigenStor Neo is the system we specify for residential and light-commercial projects. The comparison below — and the whole-home management that follows — applies to homes and small businesses. For commercial and utility-scale work, see “Larger Projects” further down this page.
SigenEnergy Neo vs. Typical Hybrid + Battery Setup
How SigenEnergy Neo compares to a conventional separate-component hybrid inverter paired with a third-party low-voltage battery.
— POWER QUALITY
SA’s Grid is Dirty.
Your System Shouldn’t Care.
South Africa’s grid challenges go well beyond load-shedding — which is less frequent today than it once was. Voltage spikes, brownouts, phase failures, and unstable supply are everyday realities on SA’s grid. Each one of these events triggers an inverter transfer.
Most inverters take 10–30 milliseconds to transfer to battery. That sounds brief — but it is long enough to:
- Reset your microwave, oven display, and digital clocks
- Drop your Wi-Fi router — internet reconnects 30–60 seconds later
- Reboot your NAS, CCTV recorder, or home server — with potential data loss
- Interrupt sensitive equipment: alarm panels, medical devices, smart home hubs
- Cause visible flicker in lighting
SigenEnergy Neo transfers in 0 milliseconds. The system maintains continuous power conversion at all times. Whether the grid trips from load-shedding, a voltage spike, or a phase fault — nothing in your home notices. You find out from the app, not from the disruption.
Technical: True UPS-grade 0ms load-side transfer — vs. 10–30ms EPS break-transfer on competing systems.
What triggers an inverter transfer on SA’s grid?
Very common — each spike triggers a transfer on competing systems, even if power was not cut
Grid voltage drops below the inverter’s acceptable input range — system kicks to battery
Infrastructure faults, transformer failures, or storm damage — unpredictable and frequent
Less frequent than before — but still a reality, and each trip is another transfer event
Your home never knows the grid failed
— WHOLE-HOME ENERGY MANAGEMENT
Every Circuit. Intelligently Managed.
With a conventional hybrid inverter, the system only manages your critical loads sub-board. The rest of your home — geyser, air conditioning, pool pump — is invisible to it. SigenEnergy works differently.
Conventional Hybrid Inverter
The DB is split into a “critical loads” sub-board (inverter-backed: lights, plugs, router) and a “non-critical” section (geyser, stove, air con) that remains on grid only. Non-essential circuits cannot use solar power automatically, and they go dark during any grid failure. The inverter is blind to more than half the home’s consumption.
SigenEnergy Neo
Your whole home connects through the inverter. Essentials are protected by the dedicated 63A Backup Port. Non-essentials — geyser, air con, pool pump — remain connected and are actively managed by the system’s AI and SmartLoad controls. Solar powers the whole house, and the system decides intelligently what to run when.
Excess Solar → Geyser
Automatically diverts surplus PV power to your hot water cylinder — free hot water, no manual intervention required
Low Battery → Shed Non-Essentials
Pool pump, EV charger, and air conditioning automatically suspend when battery reaches your set threshold — protecting essential backup
Off-Peak Tariff → Shift Loads
Schedule high-draw appliances to run in off-peak electricity windows — reducing your grid bill automatically without lifting a finger
— COMMERCIAL & UTILITY SCALE
Larger Projects: We Follow the Engineering, Not the Brand
For commercial, industrial, and utility-scale BESS and grid-tie projects, Ample Power takes a technology-neutral position. We specify the architecture, sizing, and equipment that delivers the best performance, reliability, and total cost of ownership for your specific application.
Where SigenEnergy’s commercial range — including the SigenStack BESS and EC inverter platform — is the right fit, we will recommend it. Where a different technology or manufacturer better serves the project requirements, we will say so. Our clients receive an independent specification, not a preferred-supplier push.
